1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Hidden Layers ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Hidden Layers is a premium audio travel companion that provides story-first chapters about historical and archaeological sites around the world. The service includes a free Before You Go briefing for each destination, premium chapters, optional directions between chapters, and full access through a monthly or annual Pro subscription.
3. User Accounts
You may use the App without creating an account for basic functionality. Premium features require a purchase through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. Your purchase history and subscription status are managed by these platforms.
4. Subscriptions and Purchases
- Free Tier: One free Before You Go briefing for each destination.
- Pro Monthly: $4.99 per month for full access to every chapter in every destination.
- Pro Annual: $29.99 per year for full access to every destination and new releases.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription in your device's account settings.
5. Refunds
All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests should be directed to the respective platform according to their refund policies.
6. Intellectual Property
All content in the App, including but not limited to audio recordings, text, images, and software, is owned by Hidden Layers or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content for personal, non-commercial purposes.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Copy, redistribute, or sell any content from the App
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without written permission
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
The audio content is intended for educational and entertainment purposes. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee the historical or factual accuracy of all content.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hidden Layers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.
10. Safety
If you use optional directions or location-assisted chapter cues, always be aware of your surroundings. Do not interact with the App in an unsafe way while walking or driving. We are not responsible for accidents or injuries that may occur while using the App.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
